Pouya Ahmadi is a graphic designer/video artist. He moved to the city of Basel in 2007.
He received his MFA degree in visual communication from the Basel School of Design (HGK/
UIC) in 2009. He received his bachelor degree in Visual Communication at the University of
Tehran. He has worked as a freelance designer and also for several design studios (Didgraphics/
Neshan) since 2002. He has shown works in several international poster exhibitions, and
received his first international design award in a poster competition held in Shanghai in 2006.
He was awarded the first prize of the poster biennial in Tehran in 2007. He became a pro-
fessional member of IGDS in 2003. In 2010, his recent short film, Portrait and Temporality was
featured in Art ByChance Ultra Short Film Festival. Since 2010 he is a member of Experi-
mental Film Society (EFS) Ireland. In 2012 he was awarded "Certificate of Typographic Excel-
lence" by the Type Directors Club (tdc) New York.
