Pouya Ahmadi is a graphic designer / video artist based in Chicago / USA. He moved to
the city of Basel in 2007. He received his MFA degree in visual communication from the Basel School
of Design (HGK/UIC) in 2009. He received his bachelor degree in Visual Communication at
the University of Tehran. He has worked as a freelance designer and also for several design studios
(Didgraphics / Neshan) since 2002. He has shown works in several international poster exhibitions,
and received his first international design award in a poster competition held in Shanghai
in 2006. He was awarded the first prize of the poster biennial in Tehran in 2007. He became a
professional member of IGDS in 2003. In 2010, his recent short film, Portrait and Temporality was
featured in Art By Chance Ultra Short Film Festival. Since 2010 he is a member
of Experimental Film Society (EFS) Ireland.
